Background for the Ernie Bush Scholarship Award
Started back in 2009, the Ernie Busch Scholarship Award, was started to honor the memory of Ernie Busch. Ernie Busch was a resident of Babylon Village and was an outstanding citizen who always was focused on giving back to the community.

As a coach, Ernie’s philosophy was not to seek out the best but to get those kids who were not the best and make them better. His concern did not end with the season or with his coaching that person, Ernie would seek out his former players and support them as well as own daughter’s high school teams by constant support and words of encouragement. Nothing made Ernie happier than seeing “kids” succeed.

His knack for making the SPORT FUN to better the individual and the team is something that is overlooked when building successful individuals and teams.
